<T>See the attatched image.

I am missing outlines of objects, windows or slabs in some section views and I dont know whats causing this. I know that the curtain wall will do this if you have no vertical mullions in it (the example on the right). So I tried using a storefront window in its place (example on the left) and it cause the slabs below it to lose their outlines (but the fills stay). I've tried different things and I cant seem to pin down what is causing this.</T>

First of all check for duplicates and delete those you find. Then turn on all layers to see if something on a hidden layer is causing this. If so, lower that layer's priority. That's all for now - I'm very tired.

Chadwick:

In addition to checking for duplicates, see if you have 2 elements that overlap at the section cut (like a slab that extends into a wall, but with no SEO). If 2 or more elements occupy the same space at the cut, what you are describing can occur.
First, thanks for all of the help.

I do have a slab sharing space with a window/door frame in these areas and a simple SEO fixed that. I wish that it could be done without the SEO, its weird that both the outline of the frame and the slab disappear - you would think at least one would show up.

Thanks again!

I can't be sure about this case, but generally, the Internal rendering engine (which is an option in the 3D window, but is always responsible for sections and elevations) is much improved in Archicad 10. For example, slabs that meet walls (with the same surface material) clean up without border lines in AC10 even if the connection is vertical.

Chadwick:

Actually, I prefer that ArchiCAD shows a problem (rather than showing 1 element correctly), as this indicates a collision problem that needs to be rectified. A sort of collision detection alert. For what it is worth, Archicad 10 shows the Element Information Pop-up in Section, and you can tab between the intersecting elements, so it is easier to sort out what is going on.

My 2 cents.
