Three way wall intersections in section/elevation always give me an extra line in one direction or the other.

This means I need to detach the drawing and erase these lines. Over and over every time there is a revision.
If it wasn't for the window the solution would be very simple.
Split the front wall into two - one for the base and a separate one on top for the front of the dormer.
Then the front dormer wall will trim to the side dormer walls with no trouble.

You can still do this with the window there but you will need to place it in one of the front walls and cut an empty hole in the other which makes it a little more complicated but still easy.
If the window didn't span both walls then there would be no need to worry about the extra empty hole.

The other way is don't unlink the drawings for the elevations.
Just place a white line (same thickness pen) over the top.
The white pen won't print and effectively masks what you don't want to see.
On a totally different question does anyone know what the files with the .gpi extentions are that are created when you save a jpg ?</T>

Edited: .gpi are files that the Quicktime viewer Meander (installed with Archicad) needs. If you have it installed you'll find a help file that explains it. "(The ArchiCAD will save automatically a "Filename.gpi" file which contains some informations from image file. This file is neccessary to the Meander.)"

The .gpi file is created on Windows platform and as far as I know not on Mac OS. I don't know what it does but is internal to Archicad I think. It is not important as far as the jpg is concerned and can be deleted with no harmful side effects.

.gpi file is required for Meander to understand where to locate on a bitmat icon of view. Meander automatically connects it with QTVR's.
I couldn't get the first solution to work for me although it raises the issue that this is more about joining walls at different heights than simply joining three walls. This was also alot of extra steps probably equal to detaching from the model and fixing it every revision

I like your second method and think that will be a easy fix . . . until I get ten then hopefully this will no longer be a problem.

You can also place a white fill with no edges over the undesirable lines. As mentioned, in 10 this situation is greatly improved, but there will probably always be occasions to use these little masks to keep the drawing live.
The trick with trimming walls is to have them at the same height (top and bottom) so you don't see unwanted miters (bring on V10 which should fix this), and making sure your reference lines join in plan.
On some occasions there really is nothing you can do except for a white line or fill to hide what you don't want to see.

I am of the belief of never unlinking section/elevations but that's what I find works for me.
I have set up a white pen to match every other coloured pen thickness I use.
The thickness is very important when printing white lines - less so for white fills.

A thought on masking: in ArchiCAD, is use a vivid color, so that I can see it, which I swap to white in PM...a tiny bother, and it lets other users of a single project know what is real (live) and not. H'wever...with this segue into v10, I am wondering if this is still going to be an option. Anyone?
Even easier in 10 with multiple named pen sets to chose from.
