Clean Wall Junctions

Could somebody please advice me on how to clean up the wall junction shown in the red squares? I have tried all "normal" ways, but nothing seems to work.

Have you got anything 'extra' on the ends of these walls? (presumably not)
Are the walls the 'same' or do you have duplicated (but inverted order) composite walls on your plan (again - presumably not).

I'm not sure what the 'normal' ways are, but methods that have - in the past -worked for us include;
a) moving a wall away (say 'x-1000') and then back. And then using 'intersect'.
b) extending both walls 'past' the logical end. Using the intersect command to 'force' a junction.
c) extending both walls 'past' the logical meeting point. Trim one. Rebuild. Trim the other one.

If you assign a sensible short-cut to 'intersect' the process can be much quicker

Turns out the problem was a layer with an alternative layout but the same wall positioning caused the problem although it had been turned off!
I have had to select that layer and move it to a different location in the drawing.
Why do layers that are turned off interfere with an active drawing? How do I make sure that the layers will do what they are told?

Graphisoft ArchiCAD User Guide > Chapter 3: Project Organization and Navigation > Layers > Layer Settings and States

The numbers under the intersection icon in the Layers panel indicate the number of the intersection group the elements on that layer belong to. Only elements on the same intersection level will connect to each other

Note on Intersection with Hidden Layer: Elements having identical intersection levels will intersect even if one of the layers is hidden. This may result in "missing" lines, indicating an intersection with an element on a hidden layer. To avoid this, go to Layer Settings, select one of the layers, and assign it a different intersection level.
Exception for Level 0: Elements which are both on intersection level 0 (whether on the same or different layers) will NOT intersect.

I've been using this software for yonks and that one's new to me. Yup, I know it's in the guide but what a great reminder.
