Most people I know are using PDF. Since you've ruled that out, there's not much left.

well pdf is good but when i want a colored elevation with shades in a concrete building I see in my display when i open the pdf tiny lines(the joints of walls). That happens only in that case and i can't really know if those lines are printed.
Thank you anyway.
Just asking, if i create a plt file for a plotter take it and put it into the pc that is
connected with the plotter, how do i print it.Do i get any better results than in pdf?

What version of Archicad are you using and what plotter will you print the .plt on?

You can open a .plt with Archicad 10,
If you have PlotMaker installed you can use that too.

What program wil you be plotting the .plt from AutoCAD?
What equipment is being used to make your prints/plots?

As for getting rid of the black fills. Just select a different pen. You can always select grayscale in your plot set up if you don't want color.

Yes, you can print both pdf and plt from Archicad! On the remote computer .pdf is printed using Acrobat Reader and .plt usually by ViewCompanion. Pfd is used usually for up to A3 format.

For pdf you nave to adlust the resolution to a higher value - hence you get a larger file.

Q How to plot/print a .PLT file on a printer?
A You want to print an existing .PLT (or .PRN) file on your printer (or plotter).
Make sure the file was created for your specific printing device (the same model). You can just copy the file to your printer:

COPY /B myfile.plt LPT1:

or
COPY /B myfile.plt \\server\designjet800

for a networked plotter.
If you have a networked plotter with TCP/IP interface enabled (e.g. HP DesignJet with HP JetDirect, firmware version 08.03 and higher), you can also use the LPR utility in WinNT/2000/XP (or Unix/Linux):

lpr -S192.168.0.99 -Praw -o l -d myplot.plt

where 192.168.0.99 is your plotter's IP address.
There are also several programs (freeware, shareware) for easier printing of PLT (or PRN) files from the Windows environment (e.g. PrintFile, GoPlot - see www.xanadu.cz/download, etc.).

panosrxo:

In addition to the above, you can install ArchiCAD 10 on the remote computer, and open your file in demo mode (without the protection key), and print or plot directly.
