curved reveal

12" concrete wall and i want to add reveals like the one shown on attached pic for arch doors and windows.
the ac lib has the reveal shown for square openings only, what is the simplest way to accomplish this for archd windows / doors ?

Cadimage Door&Window builder does this very easily, rebated, curved splayed.However sometimes the floor plan cut docent represent too well.

Rakela,
If you do not need the arch to be splayed you
can do what you want in the window settings.
See attached image.

maybe i can use peters suggestion and the profiler tool for the splayed edge...a lot of surgery for that mickey mouse detail though..or the SEO tool if i find a subtracting element ..thanks again

Hello Rakela,
I'm sorry I did not understand that you needed the opening splayed.
I also noticed that the reveal settings will not allow negative values
so the reveals always cover part of the window unless you over-size
the frame.

Aside from buying such a window as Richard suggests,
the only thing I can think of is to use one of the openings door objects
to cut an arch head opening in the 12" thick wall, insert another thinner wall
into the opening subtract the thinner wall from the 12" wall
to create a niche. Use Profiler to make an infill body that has a splay cross section
and insert this infill body into the opening.
Of course you have to open the script of the Profiler object and rotate the
3D element 90° and delete the 2D script and make another 2D script or
draw the shape in the 2D symbol window.
I agree, what a pain.

hi peter,
i ended up creating a 'reveald/chamferd' gsm object using archiforma and then using the SEO tool.

I couldnt handled it in ac alone

Archiforma's ability to chamfer edges and rotating elements made it simple....
at least in elevation looks good !!!

BUT....the floor plans still doesnt show the real section....i wish i could find an object like the one in ac for splayed opening but with an adjustable arch and of course the chamfer ability.

Thanks for posting back.
Too bad about the 2D symbol.
I guess the problem is that the result of an SEO
is not reflected in the plan.

Hello Rakela,
I was looking at the image you posted and realized that
the door and window you show are segmental true arch head not
oval or elliptical. To my knowledge, the AC library
does not have a true arch head window or door.
Where did you get that window and door ?

You also might be interested in an object I just made
that makes an arch head splayed opening with shoulder specifically
made to accept an arch head window or door. Since the AC
library does not have a true arch head window or door
I had made an arch head window (haven't made a door yet).
I wonder whether this object would work for the arch head
door and window you use. It is parametric so you don't have to
make a new object every time you change the size of a door or window
and it shows correctly in plan.

at least i remember the door: D2 segmented 10/arch top doors 10 ....from ac10 lib..and special windows
