<T>Hi Everyone,
I draw a stair. its treads are stone-granite. when i draw a section along centerline it shows all components as concrete. But in elevation it shows correct view.
what is the problem?</T>

Ogabson:

You do not say how you created the stair, so I am guessing that the risers and treads are slabs. Slabs have a material assignment for the surfaces (your stone-granite) and a separate fill assignment for their section cut. Your risers and treads have a concrete fill assigned to the section cut material, you should select the risers and treads and change the section cut fill to a different fill. If this does not work, please post more information about how you created the stair.
Hi David,
I made it by stair tool of AC. I assigned different materials for risers and treads.
It is a simple stair so i didn't use slab tool.
Should i use slab tool for making stairs?
Then what's the function of stair tool?
I am asking these questions to understand the working method with AC.

In general, the materials you assign are only applied to the SURFACE of the object. Unfortunately, the stair object seems to have the ability to assign only one material to a section, and it will be applied to the entire stair. You are probably best off using an "empty" fill (or similar) for a section. This is assigned under "Floor Plan and Section" > "Cut surfaces".

I've just noticed stairs dont show in hidden line 3D - anyone else seeing this? (or not seeing as the case may be).
EDIT: Seems the 3d uses white lines which explains why it is invisible

First time I have looked at the stair objects. Brave attempt but can only give them 4 out of 10 - thats a fail - GS we need better. Even the vilified stairmaker could control the distance before the flight hits the landing.
As for handrails, here in Australia we are not allowed to build stairs with rails like that.
