The 3d cutting plan drawing over the reflected one is a nice idea, but how do you solve the problem of dashed contour walls of the floor above?
I usually redraw the complete floorplan with lines and sectioned fills for the structural plans. Is there a better solution? I wish ghost view could be saved and hotlinked with dashed lines...

<T>I mean a true reflected ceiling plan where it would appear like your were actually looking up at the modeled ceiling (instead of now where your RCP's in Archicad are actually looking down on the ceiling). Maybe this functionality already exists by tweaking the cut plane settings......any suggestions?</T>

My understanding was that this is the drafting convention. Do you mean that the entire plan, including building envelope, would be flipped?

The plans would still read in the same orientation, but with the floor plan cutting plane seeing upward instead of downward, removing the weird display order issues on slabs that show a ceiling and allowing elements that are "dashed above" on the plan to read solid.

Some people even include roof overhangs and soffits on them.

Use your 3d cutting plane.

Save the view you want of the ceiling and place it into the Layout on top of the reflected ceiling plan.

Can work for making projected or reflected ceiling plans.

Everything you want to change about the display order of slabs can be done in the view you make in model space.

Make the 3d cutaway view you place over it show only the ceiling.

You can make a view show anyway you want in model space. You can use a different cut plane individual views if needed. Then place that view on top the other drawings in Layout. This is how you can have a ghost story in layout. It may also be useful to use a different pen set for some of these drawings.

Wall contours of the next floor above the actual one can not be set in any view dashed... it is only possible to modify the elements own settings, that's my major problem...
Neither in normal groundplan view, nor in cut-plane projected view - except if you use the special lines option in Special menu... but it has not been published and supported in AC10 yet, however it could be already used in AC9.

sure they can. Just go the the floor above, make it look like you want, save the view and place in on top of your refelected ceiling plan in Layout. Besure you use the transparent background setting when you place the drawing in Layout.

I understand your idea, but this way you can make only static drawings, which you won't refresh any more automatically. Instead, you have to change the wall contours line type to dashed, every time the building changes and resave the view, than change the line type back to solid...

In AC10 you can set your walls above to 'Projected with Overhead'. In the story below, set your cut plane to show 2 sories above, or 1 story above with enough of an offset to cut into the base of the upper walls.
