<R>I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone. No solid fills are showing in sections or elevations. They show in plans fine, and all other fills show correctly in sect/elev--just not solid ones and no matter what pen is chosen. Display options are set for all fills to display AS IN SETTINGS, fill background BY ELEMENT SETTINGS. I've been staring at these computer screens all day and I'm afraid I've lost my mind. What the heck am I overlooking? </R>

As far as I know, you never could unless the section/elevation is unlinked, then you can manipulate the fills as needed... or generate a 3D with parallel settings straight on. Is the screen shot what you are looking for? It was done with parallel settings and the internal engine.

First of all, all fills that are defined within objects' settings in plan are showing fine in elevation. The problem is occurring when I'm CREATING a fill in an elevation window. Any fill I create here shows correctly--EXCEPT solid fills. That's it.

Hi Dave,

With the model view options that you indicated (background 'by element', fill 'as in settings' for all fill types), everything is fine for me...
I've no problem here either. (I normally use solid fills to cover items I don't want to display).
The only issue i've seen is that when I create them, they usually end up <S></S>behind<E></E> the auto-updated content of the S/E. So I have to bring them forward to see them. Once that's done, they stay in front.

As a temporary test, did you try injecting the parameters from a good S/E into the dodgey one? If that still doesn't produce the results you're after, I'd say you have some kind of corruption and you'd need to recreate the elevation.
I did try injecting with no success. The elevations are un-linked and I am just cleaning up and adding 2D info. Again, to be clear, I have no trouble with fills that came into the elevation by way of object parameters. I am simply trying to create fills in an elevation drawing.

I REALLY do not like the implementation of this tool, and I still think there is a bug--or two. I had to click on the button three times for the solid fills to show and there was no shading of the button to indicate position. It now does become shaded with every other click as it should.

The tool seems to be global while working in model/drawing mode, but view specific when in the layout book. That makes no sense to me--what would be the advantage to it applying globally--ever? While I was having the "problem", as I described, <S></S>one<E></E> elevation displayed with solid fills, while all the others did not--that appears to me to be a bug, though I believe it should be a feature of View Options.
