ArchiCAD 11 will come soon (as much as I suspect..)
What can AC 11 do better than AC10?

Anyone who knows is bound by an non-disclosure agreement. You shouldn't get an answer here until GS publicly announces it.

I'd it expect it to be October / November 2007.

Outside bet that it could be announced at Septembers archicad university , but I wouldnt bank on it!!

Remember that when AC10 came out, GS claimed that they are on a 12-month release cycle now, so May or June is likely.

So far, there has not been any official statements about AC11 from Graphisoft.

If AC11 will come soon, it must be much better than AC10.
But it is almost impossible.

Ha! That's funny considering AC would be no where near a 12 month release cycle if it weren't for Revit's release cycle.

AC 10 is quite enough as CAD. Normal (or special but not crazy) architects can do everything without problem with AC10.
GS must consider to sell more AC10 (not to make AC 11) worldwide and bring more tips and show more possibilities with existing tools.
Allplan or VW or Revit has no chance.

Hey Scott,

An honest question, not trying to be sarcastic or stir things up, none of that even though it cold be taken that way, HONESTLY! After the last go-round about Nemetschek I am really hoping for a new level of maturity and productivity to emerge. That was flat embarrassing!.............Anyway, I digress, I am kind of confused about why you participate over here, in AC-land? Is it just to raise a little hell? Drum up sales for your guys by "dissing" our product, [from your signature it seems that would directly benefit you, and Lord knows we do a pretty good job of that all on our own ], or, well, I mean, well, I just don't really get it. Why spend your time over here? I don't really care one way or the other, just plain curious after seeing your smilin' avatar and, shall we say, competitive comments over the past however long it's been.

Scott. It is just Mouse hunt. More important from how often software is released is how much work have been done during certain time frame. I think AC looks better in that area. And one more thing. AC previous cycle as I remember was 18 months, so not that much different.

Such short intervals between the releases trouble me! Is it really enough for a new version? If you have looked at AutoCAD during the recent years the have had 6 releases since the year 2000 and no major new tools!

It is like the washing machines commercials: "Here is the NEW Ariel! Go buy it! It makes white even more whiter!"

I agree with kliment, Autocad and Revit are both upgraded every 12 months, however there is not much to show for it, particularly autocad.

GS who have had a policy of 18 month cyclical upgrades tend to pack more things in. I think id vote for 18 and more, rather than 12 and less!

To be honest there have been a lot of work done. Major changes just since 2002 (after version 7 not chronologically - just from the top of my head - correct me if I'm wrong)
-real OpenGL in 3D (not some preview window)
-functional right mouse button
-Scroll zoom
-Total Interface rework (personally for the best - still things to be done but much better that before)
-Plotmaker Integration (with total rearrangement of menus - again personally I love the idea - bit a learning curve for the old AC users but totally worth it. Some changes, adjustments needed though)
-Solid Element Operations - that was a hit but it needs improvements (like snapping to new points and edges, effects of operation visible in plan etc)
-Custom profiles - again a hit that requires improvement (not usable in Curved walls, just one pair of stretching lines, lack of parameters, no profiles for Slab and roof edges
-Favorites - I like it a lot - it could be improved (as always)
-Locking of favorites to the elements - changes to the favorite setup modify all the objects that have this favorite assigned
-Possibility to assign selected set of attributes per object (just geometry but not pens and layers for example.
-Using Favorites in indexes (Column schedule)
-Possibility to modify the Favorite directly from the Tool properties window
-Favorites with preview
-Favorites for Objects, Lamps, should have hierarchical structure so we could create customized libraries without library editing

That's it for now, but there is lot more.
