In Section it is not possible to do this.

I've even tried all kinds of custom objects to read the Zone name, show it as 3D text, and face the section marker, but none of them worked 😞

How do you make an object be aware of a section marker and
which way that marker is pointing ?

After 11 years have passed, I am wondering if ArchiCAD has made any advancements in this department? It seems like an obvious thing to be added so that rooms in building sections can be automatically noted. I have found that there is an add-on made by another site that seems to do this, but they only have it for version 19 or prior, so that does not help me in version 20 (http://simpleaddon.com/index.html). Please let me know if there is anything new in this area that might help automate the process. Thanks!

Have you tried the AC19 add-on in AC20? Is there any particular reason why it would not work in the newer version?

The AC add-on now includes ArchiCAD 20 and it does work, but unfortunately it is not live. Once the zone titles are added they do not change if a zone is changed in that section.

Not completely automated but this one year old workflow is as good as we have for now.

IIRC Simple AddOn can only read the zone once if it changes then you have to redo it with the label trick it will auto update

I checked that blog post and just want to point out 2 important things that could be easily missed:

1. The Zones must be selected in the Floor Plan Viewpoint before going into the Section/Elevation Viewpoint. This will enable the "Related Zone Name/Number" Autotext to return valid values.
2. The Label must be placed with the "Associative" Geometry Method.
