Modifying text

I just switched to 8.1 R2/V2 and I'm having a problem modifying text. If I try to modify existing text, I have little to no time before it deselects from modifying. Is there a setting that I am overlooking to give me more time to modify text or how can I fix the problem?

Options > Preferences > Dialog Boxes & Palettes

Increase the "Dialog Box Auto-Update Delay".

I also changed my mouse constraints to cad-like from mac-like and that also helped.

Whew, I should say so.

I'm not sure why the "Mac-like" option is even still available. It is no more like OSX than it is like WinXP. Perhaps it should say "OS9-like". Does anyone actually prefer this setting? (I can't imagine it myself.)

I can't really envisage using this setting for CAD work. I think it would be closer to the mark to call it "Sketch-like" or "Paint-like" because it is far better suited to these purposes. If Graphisoft ever introduce tools to target conceptual design (as opposed to measure/precision drawing), then I could see this option having a purpose.
