Petros gave you very good advice.

The other option is to do a sketch rendering, with the light pen color. In this case, you have the image, not a vectorial PMK, so watch the size!

Goto Window/3d window-use the internal 3d engine to view your model. Then save this view as PMK (plotmaker)-Edges only
Import the drawing in the plotmaker sheet and from its settings choose Attribute update rules/custom pens and colors.
Edit pens from the attributes and select all pens.
Give them a grey color.

I tried your plan with the internal engine in the 3d window. I am unable to complete the generation of the window. I let it run about 10 minutes.
(internal engine to view the model) I've tried hidden line, and shading selection both. The hidden line crashed, shading runs on and on. Process is running at 95% CPU usage. Is there some other setting that should be off to make the generation simpler?

Thanks

Check that vectorial shadows are off (mage/3D window settings)-
Also try to make your model "lighter"-By turning off layers that don't appear in your scene (probably furniture if you are viewing an exterior etc)
10 minutes is quite a lot
