<T>Hello all,

Was just hoping somebody could help/answer a question about Plotmaker.

Q. Is it possible to import PDF's into Plotmaker, as they seem to go into plotmaker (Version 3.1.0 R2 INT (2284) okay, but they are just displayed as the adobe acrobat writer icon with adobe document written underneath.
The pdf's are written from photoshop CS 8 ( i have tried the save as...photoshop pdf, and as a straight forward print using the amyuni pdf writer as the specified printer).

oh, the background to the reason to use pdf's in this way is that I am adding coloured hedges and trees to the background of a line drawing elevation from archicad - saved from archicad as a pdf.

thanks in anticipation of response(s)

Oh and this is my first post to the forum so apologises if this is all wrong/missing information.

cheers,
Dave

alas, this is a long-standing complain.

At this time, Plotmaker cannot import PDFs.

Your post is fine, though it's a good idea to put you Archicad version, Operating System, and hardware in your signature (in your user profile), to help answer version-specific questions.

Thanks for the reply,

Bizarrely It makes me feel better, as in, its not my ineptitude at archicad/plotmaker.

Any ideas as too how I can acheive the end result desired, ie areas of jpeg, bmp, tiff etc onto a line (vector) drawing, into plotmaker? Any advice or ideas on this would be much appreciated.

Am using Archicad 8.1 r2 on a pentium 3, 1.7 mhz, 128? mb, I have photoshop CS, indesign 2.0, illustrator 10, art-lantis 4.5...to play with.

cheers,
I'm not sure I understand what you mean "areas of" jpgs, tiffs, etc.

You can place bitmaps into Archicad or into Plotmaker. Just not PDF's.

Maybe I'm missing something, but ... can you not save as 'almost anything else' from PS? There are a lot of image formats than Plotmaker can handle, just not pdf's.
PlotMaker can read Photoshop files directly. No need to "Save As..." anything.

Keep it as PSD (Photoshop native). It will go straight into PlotMaker, and will be live if you need more changes, so that the update is automatic too.
