The best advice for you:

Turn OFF automatic updates on Windows!

This is the first thing we do after buying a new computer in my country!

I have done it too!

I don't think the update is the problem, but sometimes updates goes wrong.
But if your windows has been configured correctly, use system restore point to restore your system to a date before update and then try update again.

We know of similar problems, f.e. when installing the SP2 security patch, that updates can overwrite videocard drivers and therefore can mess up functionalities of other applications.
It is quite possible that this is what happened in your case.

If this update is an important one for you, you can do the following thing:

- Install this latest security update
- Then uninstall the display (videocard) driver, from the add/remove programs within the control panel
- restart your computer
- install that display driver that OpenGL worked with previously

Are you crazy?! You are asking for serious trouble using an unpatched computer that is connected to the internet. I can't believe that the mild inconvenience of faffing with the graphics card drivers once in a blue moon outweighs the risk of getting hacked/ nasty viruses/ security problems etc.

(Unless, I hope, you mean you manually update your machine instead, in which case ignore the above!! )

XP Pro with SP2, Windows firewall and Symantec Antivirus installed and finetuned by a professional computer specialist. Haven't updated the system since I bought it a year and a half ago! Works very well, if I could say such a thing for Microsoft product! <E>😉</E>

I tried another computer with the same ArchiCad 10 version and the problem is the same... I'm still looking for a functional way to install the update...
Tonight I will find the failure and will post it tomorrow!

systemrestore workes very well...

@kliment
If you turn off the windows update and you have stupid users, the will open all attached files. The problem is, that this special update fix a dangerous problem with handling with url...
So, if you will get a prepared pdf, it is possible that you will infected...
"Symantec Antivirus installed and finetuned by a professional computer specialist"... not really, normally you use something other than norton...
