<T>I have a 3-story apartment building modelled in 8.0 and now I need to redesign something, but when I import it to 8.1 I get the following message:

"Error while loading plan file!
Module: Attributes"

and the available options are:
"Stop loading/Ignore error and continue"

Perhaps the layer number is what's causing the problem - I have 98 layers and only the default AC layers get transferred. The rest just aren't there... What's wrong? Can I transfer the file or do I have to work in 8.0?

P.S. I've tried saving as .PLA and the importing opening in 8.1... no luck!</T>

Not sure I understand, but will try to help. You should just open the file in AC 8.1, then the library manager will come up & you'll have to replace the AC 8.0 library files w/ AC 8.1 & any specific library parts you may have used by the local lan tab and searching your comp. Then file should finish loading. If you are importing in plotmaker I'm not sure what to say. If you are merging, then the problem is most likely in your translator you'll want to check the setting of your translator to make sure all layers are coming w/ and are correct. HTH

Try purging the unused attributes in Attribute Manager, then save the archive. Maybe (hoping) the corrupt one(s) aren't in use... 98 layers isn't a huge number, and that wouldn't be a problem by itself.

I've tried "just" opening the file in 8.1 and the Library Manager box doesn't come up because AC recognizes all the libraries on the hard drive because I haven't moved them...

Purging unused layers didn't work also. <E>😞</E>

What happens if you open the AC 8 file in AC 8? Can you do that?
It may be that the file is corrupted in some way so even AC 8 cannot handle it anymore.
