AC11 Little improvements......

Wanted to start a list of AC11 Little improvements......which are not announced:

First Selection outline now is shown in dots
Second Selection outline is shown in Dot Dash Dot

Nice, yet still short cut C for changing of the method is still not implemented, must be very hard to code it in!

Interactive schedule works more acurate - eg. when scheduleing areas it used to round the values twice the zones values and the total value separately - so the total was not equal to the sum of the listed zone areas - and it is now fixed!!!

The window and door markers can export to dwg on separate layers - very usefull improvement!!!

Door and window list is not working good with cadimage dwbuilder.
When i start door list i get everything fine but i cant get 3d front or back view and
in window list i cant get 2d symbol but 3d front view is working fine ?????

Strange thing,dont u think so ???

And ofcourse, when i insert door or window from AC11 everything works fine. So this thing is probably connected with cadimage dwbuilder for AC11. What a stupid bug !

I think that's why CADImage provides their own schedules. I don't expect the Archicad scheduler to work with something from a 3rd party add-on.

I think that's why CADImage provides their own schedules. I don't expect the Archicad scheduler to work with something from a 3rd party add-on.

Everything was working super with AC10, this is now, but i will try with their and offcourse, i will infor u here what results are !

How about we stay on topic - it's such a good one.

A little AC11 improvement is the Options> Work Environment> Enable all informational messages... that, apart from bringing up one of ArchiCAD's quirkiest messages, will enable all information dialogs that have a checkbox at the bottom left corner. Note, this does not apply to the FindOutMore dialog which is a separate application (stored in the ArchiCAD folder).

Been using Version XI now for days. Everything works great. Have had no slow downs on Win XP. The new trace function is marvelous.

just installed it today... trying to work some library kinks out.... did you transfer a project from an earlier version (i was using using 10).... any problems with composite walls.... elevation/section markers..... ect?

if you have any words of wisdom to make this transfer... i'd love to hear anything

I did not work on an older plan with XI, I started two new projects only. I am staying with version 10 when working on older projects to avoid any problems. Sorry I can't be of more help.

If u have a plan and u create worksheet from it, u CANT use trace on worksheet of other plans, if u want to do that u have to create worksheets of every plan u have and trace them . Thats a little minus if u ask me.

Trim to roof should be deleted /solid operations are future
Elevation tool - i dont need it section tool is enough
Linework cosolidation - VERY VERY USEFULL TOOL /10 points for this/
Trace is very usefull
Complex profiles and solid el.operations work great !

In slab acces.-floor construcion i wish that i can strech it in plan, this is my wish.

stairmaker sux like years ago !

Zone tool in some cases give me wrong area if i use inner edge, so i must use manual. This was case in AC10 too

Hope I'm understanding you right, but by right clicking on any worksheet, floor plan, elevation, etc. you can select "show as trace reference" in the project map without making any worksheets

Here are a few undocumented new features / differences I have noticed.

Model view options has a new control for GDL objects based on “ceiling plan” or “floor plan”. I assume a part needs to be scripted to recognize this setting and adjust its appearance.

New Layer combination settings allows quicker adjustment of layer combinations when adding a new layer to multiple layer combinations. These option are only available when a single layer is selected.

New filter by extension (shows only layers of selected layer extension – does not filter for multiple extensions) or xref (hides these layers) in layer setting dialog

“Marker Range” in on screen view options replaces section depth outline in on screen view options

Transparency in sections and elevations are controlled in the section or elevation default settings dialog box

New libraries recognize parts from previous versions.

Fill Uncut Surfaces & Element's Own Material Colors
in model display of Section/Elevation/IE Windows. I hope did not miss it in AC10. But it is very very slow to generate them.

That was new in AC10.

That's not entirely true.... I've got a lot of objects from the AC10 library that are not recognized in the AC11 library (you have to load the Subset library).

This was the case in AC10 as well (for me, anyway).
