Can you post a screen shot?

It sounds like you want a different angle but same eaves and ridge height, is that correct? If so you can define your roof angle in the 3d window (then alter the height with the "Elevate" edit command). If that's what you want, I can give you more detail.

<T>hi, I'm trying to model an house extension. I have a pitched roof to which I am trying to construct one at equal height, but different pitch, perpendicular to. I can't find a way to construct this without leaving overlaps which i can't trim. Any ideas?</T>

thanks, i figured it out eventually, it was just a question of using thepolygonal roof tool and playing with the angles. thanks for the help

Just to make sure you know...

There are some tricks to aligning roofs that work very quickly and don't involve playing with the angles. This is easiest in 3D. You can drag the eaves and peak up and down to align as desired and then select one roof and command/control click on the edge of the other to make adjust automatically to the intersection of the two.
