I was referring to what you are seeing in the "Viewer", which I was guessing is the object dialog box, but I am not sure. If you post the object itself, I will see if it works on my set up.
You're in a Master, so the scale is 1 to 1 right?

I guess the question is what do you want to achieve? If you want to change the scale of a drawing placed on a layout using that master, you can set that in the Drawing's Settings.

I am trying to make a new master layout. I thought I could just open an old one in PlotMaker 9, copy and paste it into the new one.

It comes in ok, but not at the same scale. Apparently there is now way to change the viewing scale to match the (1/4"=1'-0") stuff I want to paste so this is probably not going to work.

How are you doing this exactly? Are you copying the entire master, or just it's contents?

Regardless, any master it at 1:1 and cannot be scaled. It's a real-world working area, if you will. You can zoom, but not scale.
just content. Text, lines, fills, things in my title block. Some of which were objects which I can not get to work even if I open the old 9.pln in 10, and resave it again as a new 10 .gsm.

looks ok in plan view. not ok in layout. all layers on. Actualy, this one is a problem. Why would the object look different?

I tried to make a detail out of the object. It wont work either. However, if I open the detail, I can paste it into the detail right next to it and it will look just fine. Something is not right.

Did you check to see if any of the missing elements are showing in a white pen? (and as such are invisible)

Steve:

Also, try zooming in on the object. I have an object with text on the Master Layout that appears mostly blank when the entire page is shown, but the rest of the text shows up when I zoom in on the object. Printing is no problem.
Yes, the objects work in the Master Layout, and show correctly in the layouts. My objects are pure GDL, are you using bitmap images or the 2D drawing window of the object? (Guessing at what could be different, do you want to post the object?)
Perhaps if you post a screen shot of how the object "does not look right", someone will get an idea of what is going on.
