wall under stairs

good day,

Can some one talk me through on how to trim a wall to a stair case (on the right side of the stairs), so that the lower part of the stairs is filled with a wall and the top part is open

Design > Solid Element Operation

1) Select the Stair and make it the operator,
2) Select the wall and click on the target object button.
3) Action - Subtract with upward extrusion
4) execute
