We are experiencing weirdness here. We have a Mac contractor, and we are a pc office. I have gotten a file from him on a project and when I open the file up and open the 3d window, only about half of the model is there. It looks sort or random, I see different walls all over the project showing, but not all of them. The walls are disappearing. When I select the wall and open the 3d window the wall is fine, but when I try to view the whole project, it (along with others) will be missing, in addition to roofs and 3d elements, cabinetry, landscaping, and various other assundry items. Getting some real strangeness here. Also, it isn't something obvious like layers or something, so before people respond with items like, "your using it wrong." Anybody have any ideas?

There is an option in PREFERENCES > MISCELLANEOUS... for saving in multiplatform format.
Does the Mac guy have this activated?
Maybe that is it?
Just guessing but check your 3D engine mode in AC to see if the file is using one that is not kosher with our WinPC

Shae,

Another possible problem could be SEOs on some of the elements. I have had this problem several times on a current project and have had to cancel some of the SEOs. The most problematic seem to be cutting objects. I have had partial 3D showing as well as in Section views. It lots of SEOs have been done it can be a little like finding a needle in the proverbial haystack.

I have been working cross platform for many years with minimal problems. Of course I generally use my PC (or theirs) with PC based clients and likewise I use Macs with my Mac based clients, but I have often mixed this up for various reasons and have interoperated using my own machines (including simultaneous teamworking) on numerous occasions.

The multi-platform format could be the problem, but I believe this is on by default, so your consultant would have to have turned it off.

Are you both using the same libraries? If he is using the old AC9 library and you are using the SE library it can cause a whole mess of problems.
