Is the Corner window function on?

No, they're not corner windows...they're just windows...is it possible to toggle on a "corner window" function for a plain old window? It's ALL of the windows that are doing that, though, not just those on the corners. Curiously, when I copied the wall and pasted it into a new (empty) model for unrelated reasons, it appeared that the problem disappeared altogether--indicating perhaps that it is a function of the model-space (or whatever it is called) or the file, rather than settings on the windows or the walls...suggestions?
Thanks!

Experiencing similar problems with the corner window tool. That does look like the function button is off, but it seems unstable to me. I have noted that the function disconnects automatically and don't know why. When I drag a door, for instance, close to the corner window (without touching it) it disconnects. My window is in a brick veneer wall with brick sill turned on. This particular home has a stucco wainscot below the brick sill which I have added using a thin wall. This seems to prevent the windows from joining at all. If I turn the wainscot layer off and join the windows, it works, then I can turn the layer on again and it stays connected. It's as if there is some sort of halo around it that triggers it off anytime some action is taken near it. BTW I am not using the SE Library on this project. Very frustrating.
I don't think so, you need to first select the corner window tool, then you can select any "plain old window" and place it as a corner window. This will add the toggle function to the parameters.

James, you might check that the two walls, full and wainscot, don't have their reference lines on top of one another. [not quite sure how to word that].
I've found this usually resolves the problem.

Erika, You are right, they were on top of one another (because that's the easiest way to snap the wall to the other wall). Changing it definitely solved all of the problems with the corner windows. Thanks!

zobi, are they from the special edition library?

i got the same result when i changed some existing windows to the special edition ones of the same variety. they meet well in plan, but their 3D is way out of whack. the previous windows met at the same point in 3D, although they didn't form a mitre. in this case, i couldn't use the corner window tool, because i still needed the wall to act as a corner 'post' separating the two windows.

it's a pain in the neck, but one i have reported to GS and hopefully they are working on fixing . . .

cheers
It would be helpful to those who might have an answer if you told us what steps you are taking.

For example step 1 is choosing the corner window tool...2 sleect your window...3 place your cursor on the wall corner etc.

Erika

steps are:

select the Corner Window tool.
Double Click on Tool Icon to open settings box.
Navigate to the AC90 Library to the Windows folder and select a wood window: fixed window. (I tried multiple windows)
check to make sure, sill height, head, width etc are OK.
Then I would navigate the mouse/cursor over the reference line of one of the two intersecting walls so that I get the mercedes sign.
I click to place the windows
And voila! no corner window (see PDF from previous post) it places the window such that it projects past the corner as a regular window.

Still not working. Someone mentioned something about turning on corner window "functionality". where is this? window settings?, prefs?

When I mouse over the reference edge and wait, all I get is the mercedes sign, no check mark at the corner.

1st test: I click to place when I get mercedes sign - no good
2nd test: if I mouse over the corner of the wall and get a check sign - no good
3rd test: in 3D Window, using the Corner Window tool, works fine! This is however very tricky especially when you have complex models with many walls. The only way to place a corner window in the 3D view is to navigate to the wall reference edge whcih is sometimes near impossible with complex models.
