I just drag the unwanted point over to another point.
Joseph,
If your points are within the mesh and are not part of a ridge line,
meaning "isolated" created by double clicking with the construction
method set to polygon, then you can delete them by dragging each one outside the mesh.
If they are part of a ridge line then you can delete a point
by assigning that point an elevation value equal to the elevation value
of a neighboring point on the same ridge line and drag the point
on to the neighboring point.
If the point you want to delete is on the mesh perimeter you
have to assign it an elevation value equal to the value of
a neighboring point on the perimeter line then use the marque tool
to draw a small rectangle around just that one point and drag it
on to the neighboring point on the perimeter.
If the point on the perimeter is the end of a ridge line and
you don't want to shift the position of the end point of the ridge line
you have to select the end point drag it a small distance away from
the mesh edge, now you have two points one is the ridge end point
the other is the a point on the mesh edge, drag the ridge end point towards the interior of the mesh a small amount then employ the
method above to delete the point on the perimeter.
This needs an overhaul.

When youhave to delete anumber of points it is very tedious. The pet pallete needs a delete option. or be able to select multiple points and press the delete button. This might be better as you can then perform multiple elvations changes in one go.

A Wish list? Can someone volunteer with the Mesh experience?
Thanks,
Seems there already is a wish list for mesh tool ( not surprisingly)
