exporting to a pdf or into photoshop without pixilating

heya can anyone tell me how to transfer my plans into photoshop without it pixilating.

i looked at some other threads and they suggested a pdf file but whenever i do it it is still pixilated.

I don't think you can. That's the purpose of Photoshop, pixel editing. (you can do some vector graphics also, but I don't think you can import a pdf like that.)

Perhaps you should tell us why you want it in Photoshop?

i need to print out my drawings and on the computers linked to the printers the have arch edu version 10. i am lucky enough to have the full version on my computer.

when i save the file to a version 10 and convert it to edu all my plans change and the icons change to dotts - not great.

if there is any other way would be great if you could help

Easy solutions;

1. connect the printer to your computer

or

2. Install the full version on one of the other computers and move your USB Key.

problems with that is that its a huge plotter and it wont install on my laptop and i cant install the programme on the computer as i am not the admin.

it is at uni so i really need another option. and dont suggest to do it on their computers i really need a way of exporting it to another programme without loosing the quality

What's wrong with printing the pdf?

Photoshop is for Bitmaps and Images
Illustrator is for Vectors and Pdf's

K, you posted before I was able to "re-write" my previous post.

BTW printing the pdf should not pixelate since it is vectors. Opening the file in Photoshop will rasterize it, e.g. convert the vectors to pixels.

Do you have the latest version of AC11?

The only way that you can get pixelated results from printing a PDF is if it contains images. Any PDF generated from standard AC views will contain vector linework and scaleable text. So, it sounds like your layout sheets must contain images generated from the 3D window or from a rendering engine? Or placed there from an external source? If that's the case, you have to make sure that the placed image has sufficient dpi for your output device. It sounds like you placed some 72 dpi (screen res) content...
