<R>Hi folks,

I want to have some drafting fills show vectorial hatching, and not have my wall construction fills on.

When I go to display options, and set

Cut fills: Seperators only
Drafting fills: Vectorial Hatching

I get the seperator lines, but no drafting fills.

Is there some bizarre and burried over-ride switch that says "when cut fill are hidden, all fills are hidden"?

Thanks.

The only thing I can think of is if some of the manual fills are not set to "Drafting Fill?" Maybe they were set to "Cut Fill" or "Cover fill" by mistake?

I have wall cut fills off with drafting fills on all the time, so it <S></S>can<E></E> be done.

You Rock!!!

Just out of curiosity, why would one be able to lable a drafting fill a cut or cover fill? (Actually, I realize there is probably some drawing exception somewhere that will make that really handy...)

thanks.
i think you just answered your own question.

my question: how come <S></S>you<E></E> drew fills that were labelled cut or cover?
Probably so you could draw in manual hatches to act like walls or like slab/roof infill... maybe to clean up a plan situation or a ceiling plan?

It's easy to get your fill tool accidentally set to 'Cut', by Opt(Alt)+clicking on a fill in a drawing section or detail window.

These Fill and Line Categories are also good when saving a Section/Elevation as DWG/DXF. You might have drawn 2D Fills and Lines over your model in S/E Window, and you would probably want these fills and lines to go to the same layers than lines generated from the model will go in the resulting DWG/DXF file.
For example, if you draw a fill over a Wall/Slab intersection in S/E, the Fill should belong to the Cut Fill category because the fills generated from the section of the Wall and Slab will be in Cut Fill category.
