<T>Hey, I just got my upgrade to AC 10. The first thing I did after the install
was to cut a building section then use the detail tool for my wall section.
Now what? Is it like it was in AC 9.0? How do I get an detail within my wall section? Like I said I have not gone through the documentation as of yet.
Please tell me that there is a way (maybe other than the detail tool) to do
a detail within a detail now.

Thanks,

You could make an additional detail layer. For example, have label.detail1 for your standard details, and then have label.detail2 for your sub details, and then just save a new view with ..detail1 off, and ...detail2 on. With this method you could even have seperate zoom / scale settings.

Thanks for the info. guys. We do currenly handle the problem by having different layers for the detals and set the views. I just can't believe that they did not fix this error. I have seen serveral post in the user group about the
detail in a detail issue. I thought it was #1 on the list of thigs to fix for AC 10?
Anyway I guess we will continue to manually do detail symbols on the wall section for the 1 1/2" details sheet locations. Its nice to have the file automatically referenced in the layouts but not nice to manually reference
just the details on our wall sections. Some day maybe.....

Thanks,
I think it was a highly requested item, but I don't remember anyone ever saying that it was being included in Archicad 10.

yes, I guess I should have said that I thought it would have been #1 on the list. It has been really the only issue that has bothered us. I am currently going through the tutorial for 10 and I like how it is set up so far. I am sure all the new features in 10 will make me forget about the detail tool.
