topic Sections - invisible walls and roof in Modeling

<T>Made an interesting discovery this morning. Generated a section through an existing and new building and found some walls and roofs missing. They showed properly in plans and 3D projections. After much searching we found that the missing walls were doubled up because I had merged a drawing with these walls with the current drawing that already had them.

Apparently, when walls overlap like this, they somehow cancel each other out - but only in section. Don't know why, but I'd call it a bug. When one accidently merges on plan over an identical plan underneath, it should show in all views and projections.</T>

Hello Cornelis,
For someone who has been using AC for as long as you have,
I am amazed you have not run into this before.
This has always been the case for every version of AC
I have used (AC 4.5 and up). It is just how AC works.
Some people, when they experience disappearing elements
in the section/elevation window, use the
check duplicates add-on in the plan to confirm this.
Hi Peter

Yes been using Archicad since 1997 and really haven't encountered this before. Just lucky, I guess, or perhaps I've been careful not to copy things on top of each other.
