Am I doing something wrong, besides picking too many bits at once?
What are the copy/paste limits you experience?

No idea what the limits are, Dwight. But, did you try "save selection as module" and then "merge" as a workaround?
Sounds to me like your RAM is getting wound up? You tried a simple reboot mate?
I have the same problem and I think it comes from the RAM....the less I try to paste the better it works....

Dwight:
I ran a quick to to see what my limits were. I was able to successfully copy/paste, drag-a-copy and /or multiply 100,000 diamond shape slabs. not sure if this info helps just wanted to see if I could do it.

I also tried to multiple 100,000 slabs 9 times to see if I could hit a million. the computer was crunch, crunch, crunching and probably would have done it but I got tired of waiting and forced it to quit.

FYI: I've found it helpful when multiplying thousands of pieces to stay zoomed into the area where my objects are while performing the task. i only zoom out after the operation is complete. i guess its easier on the computer if it doesn't have to process the 2d redraw at the same time.

Yesterday prior to Dwight's post. I cut and pasted topo lines, roads, 28 houses and assorthed text without difficulty. I don't know how many drawing elements were involved, but strongly suspect it exceeded what was attempted. I routinely do this with our site plan, and have noticed the "crunching", but have not had a problem as of yet.

Curious: Dwight, I would be happy to try file on my machine if that would help.
AFAIK it is set by the system, not ArchiCAD. I am experiencing the same problem in other software on XP, if there is quite a bit of stuff to be copied and pasted.
