Element info palette; can be found under Windows/Palettes

Or:

Activate fill tool

In the Info box, check Show area

Hold the space bar, click on the polyline

It will get filled with a fill, and show you the area.

Use polygonal shapes, not lines - if it needs to be 2D, use empty fill instead of a polyline. If it needs to be 3D, use slab/mesh. Use surface fill for finishes fill.

And so on ...

A polyline is not a closed item, so I do not believe it's area is "requestable." I think all you can query is its total length.

Fills will work, but not polylines.

.... except that the polylines "Element Information" palette only shows Layer, home story, zone boundary and length, not Area.
