topic Disappearing Windows in Modeling

<T>I've got a project I started in AC9 and have now converted and am working on in 10. I didn't think I'd put any windows in yet, since none show up in plan. Imagine my surprise when I put in an Andersen window part and went to look at the wall in 3D, only to discover that all the windows on that entire wall (and the whole rest of the project) were already in place, and the new window was sitting there floating right in the middle of the existing one. So, they show up in 3D, but there's nary a trace in 2D, although when I mouse over the location, the info bubble does pop up and says it's there, and even tells me I've actually selected it when I click over that spot. But you couldn't prove it by me since I can't see anything at that location but plain unadulterated wall.

So, what's up, and how do I fix this? I've *got* to have my windows showing up in plan, of course ;->
Are your walls set to CUT ONLY instead of PROJECTED WITH OVERHEAD?
Or maybe you need to set the windows to SYMBOLIC.
So many new settings in V10 that affect the plan views.
The FLOOR PLAN CUT PLANE will affect plan view also depending on the wall and window settings.
Check your storey cutplane level. It should be above the window sill, but within the window.

Yup, that was the problem. They were already set to symbolic, and I had them set to outline only, which I'd entirely forgotten about. That also changed as soon as I set them to "projected with overhead".

Thanks, Barry.
Apparently. I suppose that one of these days I'll get it all figured out.
