<T>Stairmaker gives only one access to “CreateNewStair”- selection pane. After creating a new stair, saving and closing, stairmaker won’t open it again, only blinks the screen and – nothing. Only way is to close the project, quit AC and relaunch. Then I can create another stair. Not good! What’s going on, anyone else experienced this?</T>

Are you talking about ArchiCad's built-in stairmaker or ArchiStair from Cigraph?

Stairmaker inside ArchiCAD is the problem.

Hah, that was a good question! If Ihave a stair selected I can edit it or go to "create a new stair" -selection pane, every time. But if no stair is selected - only one access to make a new stair. Weird.
Thanks for asking!

I have just managed to get the same instance happening in the office. What I did find though on PC no blinking occurs the pop up window just does not appear. I can still place the original stair i created and that is all.

I have found that to work around this without re starting AC you can open one of ArchiCAD's original stairs in the library modifiy it [say add another riser or similiar] place it in your model and the next time you open the stiar tool the create new stair will allow you access to the pop up menu. I didn't say this was smart but it does save you from quitting the program. you can then delete the stari you don't need [that AC modified one that gave you access to the menu again].

Hope this helps, but the problem did not occur all the time.

Yes, that was it. And the "blinking" seems to be only a fast screen redraw.
Now I can live with this feature or bug, whatever. Keeping some stair selected when entering Stairmaker lets you also create new stairs.

Bug, I believe.
I've just wasted 1/2 an hour trying to figure out what was going on , before finding this topic here. At least I know I'm not alone.

Hello
Also experienced similar problem on colleagues computer.

The workaround I used was to select the stair and then open it by using using the [open object] under the [file]-[GDL object] drop down menu. This launched the stairmaker editor
