Is there any reason that when materials are assigned to walls in the Composites option that they don't show up in Elevation view? They show up in the rendering, but not in Elevation. Is there a setting that needs to be changed.

You need to make sure a vectorial hatch has been assigned to the material in question. Options menu - materials - 3D hatching. You then need to set your section line to to display vectorial 3D hatching under model effects

Materials mainifest themselves via the vectorial fill attached to the material. The actual material shows in rendering and shaded 3d views only.

Also two elements with different materials will never conceal their join lines even if perfectly aligned.
