Oy, yet another add-on to do something that is a routine part of probably the vast majority of buildings (tilework) in at least some small way, because it isn't so easy to do right in AC?

Thanks, Djordje. I didn't even know that existed. I'll look into it further.

<T>What do I need to do in order to dimension parts of a fill?

I've got a tile pattern set and I can't figure out how to get AC to place dimensions so that I can indicate that I want the two end pieces to be equal.

Or should I have done this some other way? I have the tile on a separate slab layer from the subfloor, but I can't figure out for the life of me how to get the individual tiles to show up, if there's a way to dimension off of them. I can't get them to render in a way you can see the pattern, either. This aspect of rendering still continues to elude me for some reason.
Could you use hotspots as a workaround? Place them at the tile intersections and dimension to the hotspots.

Yes, or even just insert new nodes into the fill contour and dimension to those. Then you'd still only be dealing with one fill. You can't actually dimension to the lines of the fill itself.

Cheers,
OK, this is embarassing, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to place a new hotspot or node. I'm selecting the fill, then the hotspot tool, then control clicking where I want the hotspot and - nothing. This is what it says to do in the manual and online help, but it doesn't seem to be working. Is there another trick setting I'm missing somewhere?

Actually, I realized I did manage to insert a couple, but they ended up nowhere near where I was trying to place them, including on the complete other side of the bathroom floor, nowhere near where I was zoomed into.

I can't figure out how to insert a node, either, and can't find it in the help or manual.
You are right, it is embarassing.

Select the fill, press the left mouse button on the edge, a pet palette pops up ... does it ring any bells? For precise placing, use coordinates, relative ones work best.

ArchiTiles pays in one project, IF all or most of your projects include extensive tiling. Your tiling guys will be happy with the cutting lists.
