Is there a better way of doing it, rather than using a title type?
I remember in an old version of archicad you were able to do this.

<T>I want to link a section back to the floor plan and have it show up on the tltle type using auto text.

I have been able to make it work on one project but when i loaded the title type to another project it defaulted to 'Lay Ref'

am I missing a step?</T>

I'm not really clear on what you want to do. So you want the section marker in the plan to refer to the section's location on a layout? Or do you want the section placed on the layout to refer back to the plan location?

Sorry,

I wan to create a tile type using auto text to link the sections back to the plan.

I can do this by creating a new title type for each job but thats a really good time waster!

OK, asking again, what do you mean by "link sections back to the plan"? Why would you have to make a new title type for it?

As far as I know, this was never possible.

You can 'Back Reference' but not inside a Title type. You can only do it by using the "Set as AutoText Reference" obtained by right clicking on a placed view in the layout book part of navigator.
But
Be very careful using this, as if you are going to back reference, you must make sure that you back reference everything, otherwise you could get burned.
For instance if you have a section marker which shows on 2 stories are you going to back reference both? If not why not?

Ha David, you know I can talk about this ad nauseum...

1. not everything: GA storey plans are not back-referenced
2. your section should be back-referenced to the first GA storey plan layout that shows the drawing of storey with the particular section marker on. In other words if you had 3 layouts (nos.1,2 and 3) with storeys 1,2 and 3 on, the section marker back-referencing points to the layout no.1.... always
