I've had this problem before, the way i work round this one is to use profiler.
Step 1) in your head slice a wine barrel in half. Now in archiCAD line draw a quarter of that shape.
Step 2) Line draw a circle as wide as you want your barrel.
Step 3) Select your shape (make sure that is it grouped) and go >tools>profiler click ok and magic wand the circle.

Take a look in 3D and you should have a wine barrel. If you find the object is inverted Ie the curve is on the inside. simply mirror your line shape and start again.
I have one more question. Somehow I couldn't find profiler in tools manu. I was think it probably mean magic wand setting.

I draw the line and circle and group them together. Then I go to tools and magic wand setting. I set my tool box in wall tool, and then use magic wand to click the circle. but the shape come out so funny. Here is the attachment how it look like after I done. Could you tell me which step that I make mistakes? Thank you for your patience and help

You will find it in the Add-On folder or in the Goodies folder.

Draw the section profile of the barrel shape and then group it and select Profiler and 'extrude' the barrel.

Ashley,
The Profiler -an API, comes inside your
-ArchiCAD Folder
-Goodies Folder
-Profiler Folder

Open it and drag the Icon (Profiler) into your Add-Ons Folder,
Restart.
When you open the ArchiCAD now you should be able to find and select the Profiler under the Tool Menu in the MenuBar.
See below for the snapshot of the Folder structure.

Ashley,
Jacek has told you how to find and install Profiler but to my knowledge
there is no documentation in AC 8 on how to use this Add-on.
I thought you might have some difficulty using it, I know I did,
so I made a jpeg with some notes on how to use Profiler
to make "revolved" objects.
Ashley,
You don't need the magic wand, Profiler does all that is needed.
You don't need to draw a circle.

*All you need is the half section
drawing as grouped lines and arc.*

Please look at the jpeg I posted earler. the circle you see there
is the plan symbol that Profiler creates.
You can download the jpeg by control clicking on it's preview picture
or right mouse clicking on the preview picture.
Hello Ashley

First of all, you're making things more difficult that they really are.

Don't group anything. It'll require you more clicks you really need.
After all I reproduced your 'mistake' only grouping them.

Draw the curve and circle - Profiler - Click on the curve - save it.
The object will be placed on top of the circle.

that's it.
