OK, I just figured out that I can open the organizer palette for the other file this way and there's a button called "import" I can just click on to move things over.

But there still aren't any of the master layouts from the file I'm trying to import from showing up this way.

It finally also occurred to me that I can copy and paste the title blocks I'm mostly after from one project to the other, but at first glance, they seem to be losing some of their autotext this way. I also can't figure out how to get rid of the Graphisoft logo and to put my own business name in there instead.

<R>The help says: <S></S>This dialog box appears if you choose File > External Content > Place Drawing and select an ArchiCAD Project (*.pln; *pla; *bpn) file type.
Import from: Use this pop-up to choose either View maps or Layouts to define the type of project item you wish to import.<E></E>

But when I go there I could only pick model views and not the layouts or master layouts! What am I missing here?</R>

Click on Layouts in the left panel of the Organizer. The Masters are in the bottom of the list.

Djordge, when I try to do that, the masters do *not* show up, nor do I get the two panels or any option to select one vs the other. What am I missing?
Yes, and...?

Sorry if I'm being dense, but I don't get the connection. I've had it open and closed, and tried to import the master layouts both ways, but still got the same import screen for the file I want to import them from either way - without the master layouts showing up to be able to select them. I don't see what having the palette open in the target file I'm trying to import something *into* accomplishes. And opening it in the file that's got what I want doesn't seem to make any difference, either.

I'm sure I'm missing something very simple, but I'll be darned if I can figure out what.

Let me try to explain the way I get it to work... I don't know if you're already doing this or not....

1. In "New" file (the one you want to move the masters into)... click on SHOW ORGANIZER in the navigator window.

2. Click on the PROJECT CHOOSER button (upper left corner of the ORGANIZER) then click on the BROWSE button and find the file with the MASTERS in it. It's FILENAME will now show up under the PROJECT CHOOSER button.

3. In the LEFT pane of the organizer, pull down the "FILENAME" to show the contents of that file.

4. SWITCH the left and right panes to LAYOUT tab (important*)

5. Find the MASTERS FOLDER and open to show contents in the LEFT pane.

6. Drag from the LEFT pane to the right pane.

Hope this helps.

Wendy, see below

The right side is the file I am working on. The left side is another file.

Duane said it well.

You should be in Layouts in both. That is important.
