Hey!
I'm new in Archicad and i don't know how to rotate an object in 3d. How do i rotate (for example) a vertical pole that it seems as it's falling down?

If the object you are placing has a parameter for 3D rotation, you just change that. Otherwise, you can't.

It's a pretty long standing wish-list item.

You can't in Archicad natively but there is an excellent plugin called Objective by encina which is worth a look up - does lots of useful things that archicad should have implimented about 2 versions ago - but maybe they dont want to give us everything too early on otherwise we wouldn't bother upgrading!

If you understand basic GDL, you can add a rotate command/parameter to the 3D script of any object. The old bar joist objects would not rotate to be used as a roof joist, so I simply added that parameter. The 2D script needs adjustment too if you want to get picky. The Help Menu has a GDL manual or just buy Dwight's GDL CookBook. It will open up many possibilities! (I do accept sales commissions Dwight!)

For this situation you can use a sloping column.

I'm certain that David Nicholson-Cole, author of the GDL Cookbook, appreciates the promotion.

I am uncertain if any copies remain.

I should warn you that GDL is not to be taken lightly. It requires slavish and meticulous attention to detail and the ability to visualize in 3D, qualities rarely found in architects.

Yes to Objectives, it doe it all and more..more is the point

If it is an object, see whether it has a rotation parameter.

If it is a column or a beam, in Archicad 11 it can have a slope.

Maybe what you want can be modeled with the roof tool?

Never expect the things to work as you want ...
