tape measure tool?

Hi all. is there a tape measuring tool that would quickly give distance between tow points.

Sort of.

Draw a line between two points and watch the "delta r" value as you draw. When you hit the second pont, don't click or the value disappears.

Set the origin point to the position you want to start measuring from - the keyboard shortcut is to hold down shift-option (Mac) or shift-alt (Win) while mousing over the point.

The values in the coordinate palette (x/y/r/a) will then be measured from that point, e.g. the 'r' value will show the distance if you move the mouse to snap to the end point. No need for any clicking.

Or if you are using Teamwork, set the marquee tool to polygon mode and use this to measure within your workspace.

I find the line tool to be the best for measuring distances, too.
