<T>Does the "Trim to Roof" command not work if the roof and walls are on separate stories? I wanted to separate them because of some unusual roof conditions but when I tried to trim the gable walls it would not work. I then redrew on of the roof on the first story as a test and it trimmed like it was suppose to.</T>

It worked in 9 and earlier. You have to have them selected at the same time, so they have to be visible on the same story, or you can do it in 3D. I haven't tried it in 10. I prefer to use SEOs for this now since they maintain the relationship between the elements.

Trim to Roof works fine in AC10. I use it because it gives me more control and less problems - when the design is reasonably finalized.

Ive got a little problem that Ive never been able to work out...

When trying to trim the roof to top AND bottom it simply deletes the wall.

I included an example of when I would need to do this,

Any ideas on how to make this work? or another way of showing this wall here?

Thank you.

In the 3D window, select the wall AND the roof you want to perform
the trim with and go to trim to roof and select the type of trim, top or bottom. For the second trim, select the wall again AND select the other roof
and do the second trim. If you don't select a roof as well as the wall
AC does not know which roof you want to trim to so it trims to both
and the wall is deleted.
