While it is funny to think that a bubble connector line could be made into a stair tread, how do you think they did it and still matched the height and number of risers?

Precisely!

You can forgive a builder for mistaking a line for an edge, but not for sitting down and recalcualting the stair.

The ironic thing is the guy doing the work was probably muttering to himself about what a dumb @@ the Architect is!!

An old boss once told me he arrived on site to find all the windows with diagonal glazing bars which matched the hinge/opening chevron on the drawings

This is a good example of bad graphics - double checks of the riser math aside - it is like an optical illusion: once the diagonal is seen in the mind as a step, it is impossible to eradicate.

Sometimes i think the drafting board was a safer place to work because bad overlaid graphics like this could never happen. Almost never. There was the time a coffee ring on my drawing was built as a spiral stair, but that should have been easy to catch.

I once had a project with a concrete walkway that had a scored-gridline layout.
A dimension string's leader line crossed the walkway.....and you guessed it....... They scored it in the conc.
One oblique line bisecting the grid.

I once drew a wobbly line to indicate a craftwood panel behind a reception desk to find it built on site. The builder had made a full size template of my scribble and cut it out with a jig-saw. Funny thing was - it looked OK!

Once a friend of mine, also an architect, drew a line in front of the bathtub in a bathroom to indicate there should be a curtain. When she went to site she found a brick wall there.

Perhaps this is just the beginning of a new style of architecture where the annotations are expressed in the finished building.

I particularly like the idea of the grid bubbles up in the sky...

...and room tags inlaid in terrazzo, cut into carpets, stamped into concrete...

This has happened already. I vaguely remember a series of dark grey buildings with white notes - things like datums and window data written on the elevations. haha.

In the early eighties, i think.

Haha! These are priceless.

Isn't it ironic that the master builder concept has eroded to this incredible disconnect between the builder and the designer in so many cases.
