topic Re: hidden lines of complex profile by beams ?! in Modeling

I wanted to bump this post as i've struggled with this as well. The output of a complex profile is wildly different when using different tools. I've had a similar profile (swimming pool gutter) with radius corners. The wall tool had too many lines the beam tool not enough for floor plan representation. I ended up using the beam tool with segmented corners instead of true radius and then added linework/fills to get one more level of detail.

Based on the screenshot and assuming it's below the cutplane i would expect to see four uncut lines. two representing the outer edges and two representing the inner lines of the upper half of the profile.

anyway to achieve this?

<T>How can i display the hidden lines of beams with a complex profile ?! I do not understand why the hidden lines shows when i used a complex profile by wall but i can't make that by beam object !</T>

I have a similar problem. I've attached a plan image of a railing with a cap. I want the inside lines to be displayed as hidden. Does anyone know how to accomplish this?

I have tried using beam AND wall to no avail.

I use AC14. Has this been fixed in subsequent versions?

Why on earth are all lines displayed in the first place?

You could use two separate profiles, and set one 'Overhead All' in the settings so it turns dashed.
