It would seem the window markers are even more infuriating then the window labels. All I want is to get all of the tags to sit like #37 around this bay window, in a horizontal fashion. Anyone know of any good work arounds?
Thanks!
Window Label Issue

<T>I am trying to use labels to tag my windows rather then than the marker option that is available within the window settings. I am doing this because I can't seem to get marker to show up as a hexagon, and it seems to work nicely for tagging in elevations. I have one particurley pesky label that does not want to rotate to be in line with the other tags. Whenever I try to rotate the label to match the others it defaults to being upside down or reading from the right as I have shown in the two images. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Try this:

Select the wall with the uspside-down marker.

From the menu select: Edit > Modify wall > Invert Direction

Sometimes labels care which "direction" the wall was created.

EDIT: Modify wall may not be in the Edit menu (maybe in Design). This worked back in AC 9.... I'm not so sure now, but give it a try. I'm not running AC on my laptop and can't check.

Will I still have to use labels instead on the elevations? I am not sure that there is any way to use the markers to tag windows in Elevation.
In the ID box check LABEL ELEMENTS.
Select the labels and change them to the window label.
You will have to modify the Library Part used by the Marker or Label.
There is a GDL Global variable that returns the angle between the Wall of the Window and the horizontal direction. It is called WALL_DIRECTION:
<S></S><LINK_TEXT text="http://www.archicadwiki.com/Global%20GD ... LDIRECTION">http://www.archicadwiki.com/Global%20GDL%20Parameters#WALLDIRECTION</LINK_TEXT><E></E>

You will have to rotate the 2D of the GDL object to compensate for the inclination of the Wall the Window is placed into.
This is the theory, unfortunately I do not have time to test if it works.

You can use James Murray's Shape Label. Its in the GDL object depositoryon the main page of Architalk posted by David Pacifico

Shape Label JM9

Put it in one of your libraries. When you have your section/elevation open, label the windows and doors as discussed above. Choose this Shape Label JM9 and all will be well again.

GO JAMES MURRAY for making such a great label
