    <description>AC-11, imports Google Earth snapshot as a mesh. From AC-12 onwards, it comes in as a GDL object.  &lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
I installed AC-11 on my system for this reason alone (I have no projects in v.11).</description>

      <description>I've never tried, but couldn't you take the screenshot, make a new material with the snapshot as the 'material' then apply that newly made material to the top of your mesh? Just a thought. Scaling of the image may be a little rough though...</description>

There was a discussion about this a couple of years ago and reasons given for making it an object instead of a mesh. Maybe do a search for it.</description>
