You could try the wall accessories Add-On

http://www.archicadwiki.com/WallAccessories

I typically use the 2d object for the 2x4 in my sections details and I do not model the framing of each stud.

<R>I want to model a simple 2x4 piece of wood, but there isn't such an object available. The closest I can get is a truss I created myself using the truss maker, but I don't have the 'X' on it, as usual drawings of wood studs possess. What should I do?

Thanks.</R>

You could also make your own complex profile.

Create a stud using opposing fills and apply it to beams, walls and columns. These may be a little easier to manipulate.

Cheers,
There is the simple object called "Joist" on the BIM components portal that acts as simple parametric lumber and has the X. Use this one a lot for quick modeling.
