<T>The composite walls, at some point of my AC17 session, just went wrong displayed. Both, own created and AC predefined walls shows only one component of the composite, it only happens in plan view and in all existing stories, the same wall looks correctly in section, elevation and 3D view.

Could it be a bug or could it be an activated feature that i did by mistake?</T>

that´s possible, i don´t know how it happened, neither i know how to disable that option.

I also tried opening a new drawing using exactly the same settings and a merge o everything on the original file and it works good, that makes me think that it could be an AC17 bug, kind of corrupted wall display under certain circumstances.

Hope this is not a bug because i´m actually testing Archicad to migrate from Vectorworks and it has been great so far

One thing to know is that Saved View also store the Partial Structure Display setting. So it is possible that you have it same to some setting, then you activate a Saved View and the Partial Structure Display setting changes to the value stored in the Saved View.

Hi, during the holidays I tried to upgrade my ArchiCAD 17 skills and edit a new template to but I wasn't able to configure materials and composite structures to obtain correct connections. I thought that with the new priority settings I should be able to get detail level designs without patches, but I wasn't.
Are there available some templates with preferred walls and slabs, or some example projects? I need to understand if I'm doing something wrong, or if it's really impossible to obtain what I want…
At this time I'm a little disappointed with priority based connections…

I'm trying to have a correct joins, showing with light pen the components and with a heavy pen the external contour from the composite structure. In the example, in a first time I had four wrong connections. So I tried o modify priority and materials, but it wasn't enough… must modify end-pen in composite structure to heavy pen type to have better connections in 2D plan, but this carried troubles in sections, with much heavy signs between walls and slabs

Is your Trace Reference turned on in images 1 and 3? Can you upload those again without the Trace? It is pretty hard to discern the lines with it turned on.
Could you also turn off the layers of any other elements and lines (like Structural Grid lines etc.) so we can see only the elements that need to properly intersect.

Could you also do that you place texts at each skin of the problematic connections and type in the text the Intersection Priority Number of the Building Materials assigned to each skin?

By the way, whatever you did in image 2 was getting you closer to the solution as the connections seem cleaner.
One thing I am thinking about is that you cloud try assigning a higher Intersection Priority Number to the Building Material of the plaster skin (this applies to the leftmost problematic connection of image 2). That may clean up that connection.

I think there can be cases for such connections that will not resolve properly, but the ones you are showing you should be able to set up so they join properly.

If I assign a higher priority to the plaster, I get much more faulty connections… in the example above I raised the plaster only above internal hollow brick… if I raise it more I'll get even more faulty connections.
For any doubt what I mean or what I'm doing, you can download the archicad file from here:
Example project last version
Example project old version
In any case what I want is not to solve this case, but understand better the use and the capability of the junctions based on the materials priority.
And for this and other tricky functionality, I think Graphisoft should make available (with every upgrade) some well designed Projects, that use all new functionality. Even for old time users like me, it's really important understand well the capability of the new functions to not waste time uselessly, and some good example can be more useful than hundred videos.

borgo,
Unfortunately there does not seem to be a solution in which both you Floor Plans and you section will be correct.
What you are trying to do is set up Composite Pens so that you have a thick outline around you structures both in Floor Plan and Sections. But it seems there will always be cases when this setting of Skin End lines to Pen 1 will give results you dont want, especially in Section.
(You could actually make a wish for a separate setting in ArchiCAD to achieve this. I think it would make a good wish because in architectural representation we many time want to do that both in Floor Plan and in Sections.)

So I would suggest setting those Skin End Lines back to those previous colors. That way you Section will look fine. Then just use lines to get the desired result at the few places in Floor Plan where they don't give the desired result and group each surch line with its Wall so they are moved together in case of dragging the Wall. Sorry, I don't have a better advice.
