AHA! that was it; it was a layer off. I am still not used to what layer settings stay with which type of view. Thanks a bunch! That fixed it.

<T>I'm a pretty new AC user, and I am working on a wall section of a 2-story building. I modeled the rafters with the rafter tool, and I modeled the second floor joists by making beams and dragging copies at 16" o.c. What I've discovered is that when I go to the section, the joists appear, but the rafters do not. Is there a setting that controls this? (see two attached images)

thanks.</T>

when you go to the 3D window do joists and rafters show?
Could the rafters be on a layer not set to show in the section?
Are the rafters not at the correct elevation?

HAHAHA yeah, it's true. The smaller one is for a linen closet. The owner wanted it that way. I tried to convince them on another location, and they wouldn't have any of it. And they're paying me, so I bring it up once and then let it go.

I wonder if that's why most people don't post examples from actual projects- not privacy of their clients, but trying to avoid design criticism? <E>😉</E>
