<T>Hi everyone!

How could I make a wall with
glass bricks in ArchiCAD12?
What's the best method to do this??
I want to export later this project to Artlantis.
Should I do a simple wall and apply a customized material
or should I make a wall from zero using the measures from a 2D model of the brick glass??

Thanks
xristina
Well, maybe??

turkey of a glass block window.
(Between bites, I noticed this)
If the three glass block "windows" are lined up as shown in attachment,
then there is this turkey of a "white-shadow", or so I'll call it.
If I raise or lower anyone of the three, white-shadow goes away, hooray,
because luckily, I need them offset!-)
But that might not be the case if client changes concept.
Can anyone confirm, deny or otherwise enlighten me regarding this
conundrum?
Thanks
Bier
ps
I should mention, this is in a C.P. wall
Glass block "windows" Ok
just by shifting one up (or down).
Is a one millimetre (1/32" or whatever) shift enough?

how strange...
not encountered this 'feature' before...
do you get the same if the wall is not CP?
i tried recreating your problem but - thankfully - i couldn't... (well i was using a normal wall)
what other settings have you got?

Well I haven't tried this arrangement in a composite wall, but posted is basics of CP wall and image of glass blocks trio being "ok".
Thomas your question of just small amount offset did work.
In this case it is .125"
This is another case where 12 doesn't like "0".

Anybody up for a Buggy ride?

So 1/8" offset would most likely not upset too many folksy folks, but
the next client??

Thank you both for your comments.
UPDATE:
1.
Well it appears it's not a "white-shadow" from the sun.
I changed the sun angle to the other side of the
house and you can see what I got.
2. Tried to duplicate in other walls of the house in both stories, so far, no repeating of issue.
3.Glass block windows go into wall above, all lined up, without problem.
ps
Also tried without luck, different thickness' of glass block:
1. wider than wall; 2. thinner than wall; 3. same thickness as wall.

UPDATE 2
After checking everything I could think of, I deleted the problem wall.

Redrew the wall with the exact same profile to recreate it and put the exact same window with the exact same perimeters (from temp placement in other wall) ,, and all is peachy keen.
So it looks like that section, and that section only of the same profile I'm using for better than half the 1st floor walls, was the rough buggy ride.

Unknown mystery will most likely never be known, I would assume.
