Do exists a plugin for select an element in 3D and view it in 2D also selected?
Presently i select the element in 3D easily but is impossible found it in 2D
(wall at different level into many walls slabs roofs ...at same position)
the only way is to convert in 3d the layer and then hidden the others .....
I think Archicad should have this option.</R>

You can select all in the 3D window then group them. Now when you select one of them in 2d you will select all because they are grouped.

Thanks Michael,

But for symplify the problem:

I build three walls at same position:
first at 0.0 level height 0.5
second at 0.5 level height 0.5
and third at 1.0 level and the same height

in 2D i see obviously one rectangle line.

at 3d i set for each particular texture for differential
and select the second

well then go to 2d

and when select only apperas selected the first

i need to know if exits some tool or plugin or option to obtain at 2d mi
second only wall selected

thi is only an example to similar and frequents situations.

If I am understanding the problem correctly, all 3 walls are on the same story, stacked on top of each other. If you place your cursor over the stack of walls you can hit tab to cycle through the walls to select and get just the 2nd wall.

What is it that you want to do in 2D that you can't in 3D?
I can't think of anyting you can't change while you have it selected in 3D.
There shouldn't be any need to switch to 2D.

Great thought Barry! We need more like you. And as the tools get better and 3D workflows are enhanced this will become more of the norm. But 3D has its challenges too, such as verifying the relationship of objects, making sure they are aligned, etc. I have often picked points in space that look visually correct from one angle but are completely off in space when I orbit in 3D or go to a plan or elevation/section view.

Even in this recent webinar ( <LINK_TEXT text="http://www.graphisoft.com/ftp/marketing ... 1280&y=720">http://www.graphisoft.com/ftp/marketing/ac15/DESIGN-Webinar.video_frame?x=1280&y=720</LINK_TEXT> ) there is a section where the presenter is drawing some slabs at different elevations in 3D perspective and he draws a column between the two to prove to the viewer that there are in fact aligned since looks can sometimes be deceiving. So I think a lot of it has to do with comfort and accuracy. Sometimes it is nice to not have to worry about a 3rd axis, so working in 2D cannot be entirely discounted, but I am with you about working in 3D as much as possible.

I think the editing plane and 3D guidelines Graphisoft has introduced in AC15 are brilliant. And in just thinking about it I have found roofs to currently require a lot of toggling between 3D and 2D to modify angles, footprints and place points with precision, etc. So now I see why GS may have lumped the enhanced roof tool in with the shell and 3D modelling aids in this releases new feature set.

Yes 15 will make working in 3D easier to visualize what is going on.
The editing plane will hopefully make working in 3D a little easier.

I must admit though I do most of my modelling and editing in 2D - especially the modelling.
But if I see something wrong while looking at it in 3D then I select it and fix it there without going back to 2D.
I tend to stack walls on top of other walls quite a bit and these are much easier to select and modify in 3D.
Barry,

I had to cut with roof an intermediate wall for cut it with slope in perpendicular form.

Now i take one minute for it! select in 3D and build in 2D.

In 3D i don't have practice for position exactly the roof and not cut other walls i work with AC12 but perhaps AC15 was possible.

Both the walls and the roofs I would model in the 2D plan.
Then view in 3D and adjust heights if necessary (their x/y position will be correct from the plan).
Then select in 3D and "trim to roof" or use Solid Element Operations to trim the walls.
Much easier to edit this in 3d as you can see what happens straight away.
Yes, i do it but always finally i adjust the exactly slope (par example 53.35 degrees) only in the particular section view.
There shouldn't be any need to switch to 2D.

There are always few circumstances where we need to select elements from 3d window and review those in 2D plan, and edit with reference to the trace or snap the other 2D elements etc.
So as per the need this function should take place.

and also see this link to see how the developers can manage it when the selected objects are from different stories.
To all, for now we can use the 'selections' palette to save the selection from 3D and restore it in 2D.
