Being new to ArchiCAD it would be a good idea to get to know the basic tools before you get to the Add-Ons.
Yes there are some great add-ons there, but by default I don't use them if I can get the job done with the basic -out of the box- ArchiCAD.

As for the specific questions: GS MEP Add-on doesn't have cables, I don't know of any other software that does. It's commonly assumed the cables will run in the pipes/ Cable trays or ladders. CADimage's add-on is more documentation oriented.- (2D)

check the ArchiCAD Youtube channel, there are great tutorials there. And the online help.

<T>So you see I'm new to ArchiCAD, and for the past month I downloaded several addons for ArchiCAD, including Archi-Suite, CAD Image, MEP, ArchiCAD Accessories... now I'm getting a little overwhelmed by all this, and it would help if you guys can tell me just how you're supposed to make use of them.

For now, I used the Archi-Suite to make staircases, but I just found out that CAD Image has that feature as well; MEP for modeling duct and pipe ( electrical is not possible, it doesn't even have cables, just cable ladders ), CAD Image for electrical plans. Is this the "pro" way to do it?</T>
