Archicad 12 won't open at all. Help!

(I thought I had already posted this topic but can't find it...)

I shut down AC a couple of hours ago but now it won't re-open. The initial screen comes up (with the black building) but then it hangs. It doesn't manage to get to the next (grey) screen.

I am desperate to finish a project so any suggestions would be useful.

Yes I have rebooted the machin (a couple of times) and all my other programs work fine. Altho if I try to open AC after I have opened other programs, then they tend to hang too.

Post your machine, OS, video card etc specs with as much detail as you can for this kind of problem, hopefully in your profile section so it always shows.
Especially for this kind of issue.
It might not be AC.
In the other post you mentioned 'flickering', did that just start?
Any other anomalies?
Is it a laptop? If so, did it get hot?

I'm not sure of all the details. But from what I can see I'm using Windows XP. The computer is a Pentium. the RAM was upped recently to the max. I think its says it has 3.25GB if that makes sense.

I've been told it has an 'on board' video card. I have the box in front of me - Radeon HD 4350.

All my other prgrams are working fine. They only crash if I try to open AC.

I've just run a scan disk check.

If anyone else can help, it would be much appreciated.

Well! I've had such a disastrous AC day today!

I couldn't resolve the problem below so I uninstalled AC and re-installed it fresh.

So now I can open it AND my file. Phew!

But now I have another problem (see http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=30234) which probably goes a long way to explaining why I had the initial problem in the first place.

If anyone can shed some light on either, I'd be obliged.
