See through wall in plan

I have an overhead wall that is thick and I'd like to see what is below it.
I have set the wall background pen to transparent, as well as the skins in the wall composite type. Why can't I see through it?

Try just setting the Floor Plan Display (in wall settings) for the wall to "Projected with overhead".
That will show the wall as just an outline for which you can set the line style and colour in the wall settings.
